Jun San of the Grafton Peace Pagoda will be leading us on a walk through Troy and Cohoes to drum, chant, and pray for peace to all suffering Ukrainian and Russian people. Come for some or all of the journey. Kids and families welcome.
Meet at the old Price Chopper parking lot in Lansingburgh (now closed). The entire trip is apx 6 miles. Bring an open heart, water, a snack, sunscreen, and whatever you need to feel comfortable in the weather.
You are welcome to drive, ride, bike, board, or blade with us as well instead of walking.
Stops at St. Augustine’s Church, Trinity Church, St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Church, and St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church. We will end near Riverfront Park where the summer farmer’s market has been. You can also have a friend park there for a ride back to your car at the old Price Chopper.
Approximate Schedule:
10:30am – meet at 865 2nd Ave. Troy
11am – depart for Trinity/St. Augustine Church (115th and 4th St. Troy)
11:30am – arrive at Trinity/St. Augustine Church. Gather briefly.
11:40am – walk to St. Peter & Paul Church (198 Ontario St. Cohoes)
Noon – walk to St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church
12:30 – lunch/bathroom break
1pm – walk to Riverfront Park
3pm – End walk. Ferry folks back.
