Jim Danaher also known as JD ULTRASLICK has been a drummer percussionist for the last 20 years and a turntablist for 17. As he prepares to compete in this summer’s DMC DJ battle competitions, he wants to teach you everything he knows about the turntable as an instrument.
Join JD Ultraslick as he introduces turntablism to the community based on his own education as a drummer. Sign up and help preserve hip hop history as the craft of turntablism is passed down to the next generation.
We will go over all the basics of scratching, hand technique, record acquisition, and turntable equipment/ setup.
Patrick’s work has been published internationally, including on the front pages of the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. He lives in downtown Albany.
