‘Who Do I Call?’

Project TRY, a youth-led community organization, compiled a non-exhaustive list of non-emergnecy public safety alternatives for Albany, Rennselear, and Schenectady counties.

“As community organizers advocate for better funding and policy solutions for community alternatives, it is important that we as individuals change our relationship with the police. This includes making sure that law enforcement is not always our first call when there are non-violent, community-oriented alternatives. Most of the resources we listed are one’s that provide emergency or crisis services, as often emergency situations would lead one to call 911.”

Leenah Mohamed, Project TRY Director of Social Media and Research, worked on the list, which is being republished here with permission.
